For sale: one house in Colorado with three bedrooms, three bathrooms … and one wife.

It's certainly one way of meeting a man. A jewellery manufacturer in the United States is putting her home up for sale on Ebay with the twist that she comes with it.

Deborah Hale, 48, who used her website housewithbride.com to advertise her home, said she wants to find a 40-60 year-old bidder to share it within a long-term relationship.

Ms Hale said she bought and remodelled the 1910 bungalow in Denver, Colorado but was not satisfied living alone in it and was struggling to meet Mr Right.

She said: "My attempts included dating services, blind dates and connections through friends, but I still had not met the man to build a life with.

"Finally I decided to give my best effort towards something whereby that special man could 'find me'."

The house, priced at $600,000, is fully furnished, and includes a pool table, hot tub, tanning bed, big screen television and lawn mower, with Ms Hale added in as "priceless".

Posed photographs on her website show a good-looking woman with long, blonde hair. Ms Hale claims she is "100 per cent Norwegian by heritage".

Ms Hale said that she planned to sell the house on Ebay in a non-binding transaction, meaning that she and the winner of the deal could back out if necessary, presumably if they find themselves incompatible.

Let's hope that home really is where the heart is.
